Family Communication

Family Communication During Visitation Restrictions

Thank you for trusting us with your loved one’s care. We want to assure you the health of your loved one is our top priority, and we are doing everything possible to keep your loved one safe and healthy for you.

While visitation is currently restricted, we are committed to keeping families informed and connected. Although this is a new experience for everyone, we want to assure you we will get through this together. We ask you to please designate one individual to be the spokesperson to receive updates regarding your loved one’s care and relay this information back to other family members.

Family Communication Procedures

To keep you connected during this difficult time, you can expect the following from our family communication team:

  • A daily health update by phone from a member of the clinical team.
  • You may speak with your loved one directly by calling 419-228-3335 and asking the hospital operator to be connected to the patient’s room.
  • Upon request, care team-initiated family communication with the patient through FaceTime or Google Duo.
  • Family communication and resources from our supportive care team. This team consists of palliative care, pastoral care, care coordination and social service support, in addition to disease-specific support. They are a great source of information and can help answer your questions and/or relay any questions or concerns you may have.
  • Please reference our current visitation policy.

Gifts from Patients

Hearing from you is the best medicine. We encourage you to send notes of encouragement and pictures to your loved ones. Please email these to Family@limamemorial.org and include the patient’s name, date of birth and HIPAA confidentiality code. You may also bring non valuable items to the Visitor Entrance (at your sole liability). We will gladly deliver these to the room.

Thank you for the privilege of caring for your loved one. While you cannot be at the bedside, please know we are here for your loved one, every step of the way.
